I found out the clock is French and made by JAPY FRERES. Anyone have an approximate year it was made or an approximate value?

Hi...Good posting.
I am not sure if you know how to distinguish bronze and brass. Recently, I have got a bronze/brass letter holder. However, I am not sure that is bronze or brass. Is there any way to distinguish???

I'm not an expert, but from the pic, I believe it looks like bronze.
