Since the face of the clock has William L. Gilbert Clock Co. on it, it has to have been manufactured between 1871, and 1932. These are the dates that the company operated with this particular name.
Of course I can't say much about the clock other than in generalities without a picture. You would probably be amazed at the huge number of clocks and models that were made by the company.
If the case is in good condition and the entire clock is original, I would suggest it would be worthwhile having it repaired.
These American clocks in good condition are valued at least $200. Most are more than that. They are also increasing in value daily.
Antique clocks make a great investment. Properly cared for they will run well for hundreds of years! It would make a great family heirloom to pass on to future generations.
