Adam,
I too have a grandfather clock almost identical to the one about which you are inquiring. I'm having a very difficult time trying to find out anything about mine also. I was curious, have you discovered anything? Please email me so we can discuss. I live in Tennessee and I bought mine at an auction. My email address is l.roberts@g2em.com. If you chose to respond to this email list in the comment/subject box Halliwell clock info. If you do not I will probably delete the response. I will continue to research. I hope to hear from you.

I have the same clock.... by: Harriet
I have a Halliwell Duxbury clock (well, not yet "mine" still technically belongs to my 95 year old mother, but it's mine). It is just like your clock. I'm interested in the face on your clock, though. I've just posted (tonight) a pic of mine on this site, but it has not yet been approved. Mom (her mind is sharp!) has always told us the story - her father (my granddad, never knew the man, sorry to say - he was a dentist) bought it in or around 1899/1900 and always told her it was "100 years old" at the time. It keeps perfect time, needs winding once a week. Tall, 8 feet. This maker is not exactly a household name as I've found nothing. Have you? Not interested in selling, but wondering if I should insure it. I have many photos that I'd be happy to share with you. I am told it's English. It's really quite pretty.

Howdy I collect clocks and have two long case clock, but have also been unable to find much information on this particular form of longcase clock. Mine is much like yours, although mine is in rather poor shape for some of the veneer is missing. I am 15 years old and its hard to afford a perfect clock though, so I am pleased. Anyhow I did find that the clock was made around 1830 and was thought to be from Europe, most surely not an american clock. If anything more is found, I would love to know.

I don't have info about your clock, but I do know it's ALWAYS stressed by antique dealers to stay with original parts, in original condition. Be it the finish, knobs, pulls, veneer, hardware, etc. Good luck with your search.
