I love the face, with its triple date moonphase and the exquisite hands... but other than the thought that it had a c.40s feel, I know nothing about it.
I imagine it belonged on the mantle, perhaps with a barometer alongside it. But its case is long gone and there is a crack in the plastic crystal. And it doesn't work (although I think a good cleaning will help since it does tick for a few moments and all the chronograph functions appear to work).
It does say SWISS, but the movement as I've taken pictures, gives nothing up of its mysteries.
I'd love to know the correct era. The maker. And if it is worth more than a labor of love to put it in good repair.
