This clock looks like the Saturn model weight driven regulator. Made circa 1911 of solid oak with either a 30-day or 8 day movement. The book value in my latest catalog from 1997 was $650.
Very good information by: Arne
Thank you, I was able to find it doing a google after you gave me the model name... It is an 8 day clock... and the bottom piece is missing.
I just looked at the bottom and I could see where the applied finish ended about 3/4" back from the front.... We have had the clock since about the '40s and I never remember that missing piece, but it came from the office of the old and defunct CT bus co... where my father worked. I think from the waiting room in Middletown, CT...
The bus co. was owned by the struggling New York, Hartford and New Haven Railroad. The only profitable venture the co. had was the bus co., which was put up at collateral on a 5 million dollar gov't loan.. The loan was not paid back and the gov't auctioned off the bus co., and my father lost his job..... life goes on.
