Pendule D'Officer style French alarm clock

by Jim King
(Colorado)

This is a bronze, gilt, very heavy alarm clock made in the style of a Pendule D'Officer with beautiful pierced scroll hands, porcelain dial, and arabic numbers.

It is marked France on the dial below the 6 o'clock position and France 15 Jeweles on the back cover of the movement. The back is is open exposing the back of the movement. It is a circle and may be missing a cover.

The sides have applied bronze rosettes and the case above the dial has a bronze bow and ribbon applied . The case extends upward to a peak with a small ball pierced with an oblong small handle.

The clock measures 5 1/2 inches high, 3 1/8 inches wide, and 1 1/8 inches deep.

The dial is covered with a glass cover in a fancy dot and line bronze bezel. The clock stands on 4 bun feet. I bought this online from a re-seller who has no idea as to the history.

Any help would be appreciated.
