Windup alarm clock Made in Great Britain

Does anyone know the who and when of this clock. My wife's sister came by it in an opp shop. It is my task to make it go again. I would like to find out a bit about its pedigree. Haven't had any luck so far searching.

The only markings are "Made in Great Britain" fron and back and "568H" stamped on the rear plate.
